The Massarelos Power Plant was from early on a unique location for energy production that quickly became interconnected with the city. The history of this energy flow, which originates from the power plant and gives rise to the movement of the trams through the city, is reflected in the Electric Tram Museum and its various sections, offering new experiences along the lines defined by the tram tracks or within the building's structures.

Between the Lines is the permanent exhibition, where history and technologies intersect to tell the story of the evolution of the electric traction network of the city of Porto, powered, in its first 45 years, by energy produced at the century-old Thermal Power Plant of Massarelos.
