STCP prepares special operation for São João (Saint John's Day).
Between the night of June 23rd and the morning of June 24th, STCP will carry out a special transport operation to guarantee the mobility and safety of everyone celebrating São João in Porto.
Between the night of June 23rd and the morning of June 24th, STCP will carry out a special transport operation to guarantee the mobility and safety of everyone celebrating São João in Porto.
With a service focused on passenger comfort and promoting a more convenient alternative to individual transport, STCP will reinforce the main lines to the city center, increase bus frequency and ensure high-capacity vehicles are in circulation.
Gradually, the changes begin to be felt from 9:00 PM . Between 12:30 AM and 6:00 AM, the reinforcement is mainly on the lines departing from the center of Porto.
To facilitate passenger movement during the night and early morning, several lines will have their termini concentrated in strategic areas of the city such as Rua da Restauração, Trindade, Rua do Bolhão and Rua Sá da Bandeira.
CHANGE OF TERMS
Lines 200, 501, 602, 1M and 13M will now terminate at Rua da Restauração:
• Campo Alegre axis, 30-minute frequency, ensured by lines:
- 200 (Bolhão – Castelo do Queijo) and 1M (Aliados – Matosinhos Praia)
- Line 602 (Cordoaria – Airport, via Padrão Moreira) and 3M (Airport – Trindade)
- Line 501 (Aliados – Matosinhos Praia) and 13M (Aliados – Matosinhos Mercado) • Vila Nova de Gaia axis, 40-minute frequency, with connection to Sto. Ovídio, guaranteed by:
- Line 12M (Aliados – Sto. Ovídio).
• Fernão Magalhães Axis, 40-minute frequency, ensured by lines:
- 305 (Cordoaria – Hospital S. João) and 8M (Aliados – S. Pedro da Cova)
- 700 (Bolhão – Campo), 800 (Bolhão – Gondomar), 801 (Cordoaria – S. Pedro da Cova), 7M (Aliados – Valongo) and 9M (Aliados – Gondomar TIC)
• Amial Axis, 15-minute frequency, ensured by lines:
- 600 (Aliados – Maia), with a connection to Ponte da Pedra, and 4M (Aliados – Maia Câmara)
• Boavista Axis, 30-minute frequency, ensured by line:
- 502 (Bolhão – Matosinhos Market) alternating with 2M
- 701 (Bolhão – Codiceira), 702 (Bolhão – Travagem) and 5M (Aliados – Ermesinde Estação)
CHANGE IN VILA NOVA DE GAIA LINES
In Vila Nova de Gaia, there will also be changes to the locations where some lines terminate:
• Line 900 (Francelos - Cordoaria) terminates its journey in Sto. Ovídio, starting at 7:00 PM.
• Lines 901 (Trindade – Valadares) and 906 (Trindade – Madalena) terminate their journey at General Torres, starting at 7:00 PM. To travel to downtown Porto, passengers can use lines 904 (Coimbrões - Bolhão) and 905 (Madalena C Saúde - Trindade), at the General Torres stop [GENT3], on Av. da República, until 9:00 PM.
• Lines 904 (Bolhão – Coimbrões), 905 (Trindade – Madalena C. Saúde), and 10M (Aliados – Vila d'Este) will have a new terminus on Avenida da República, next to the Gaia City Hall, starting at 9:00 PM;
DELETED LINES
Due to traffic restrictions, lines 403 (Boavista Casa Música-Campanhã), 500 (Pç. Liberdade-Matosinhos Mercado), and 11M (Hosp. S. João-Coimbrões) may be suspended from 7:00 PM onwards. The following day, these lines will resume their usual operation with the "Sundays and Holidays" timetable.
ELECTRIC CAR
Regarding the historic trams, on June 23rd, services on line 1 (Infante-Passeio Alegre) and line 18 (Clérigos - Passeio Alegre) will end at 6:30 PM.
On Tuesday, a public holiday, both tram lines will begin service at 9:00 AM according to "summer" time.
